Heat Treatment of Aluminium Alloys

The mechanical properties of certain aluminium alloys can be optimised by the appropriate selection of a heat treatment process.

Skaigh Engineering has two on-site heat treatment ovens enabling us to meet our customers’ needs. After each cycle sample castings are non-destructively tested using the Brinell Hardness Scale to ensure the quality of the Heat Treatment is correct.

The most common heat treatment processes carried out at Skaigh are:

LM25 & LM9 TF, TB7, TE & TS
